Themes and offsite venues

With the creative people involved in the Conference and Incentive industry that Rotorua has the options are only limited by the imagination, and some times the budget!

Following are some of the ideas and options to tantalise your creative side:

If you are coaching delegates from Auckland

Arriving
On the way down from Auckland there are various places that the coaches can stop for refreshments and an opportunity to stretch the legs along the way.

At Cambridge there is the Magic Horse Show with the option of lunch, at Lake Karapiro try the high and low climbing courses or a spot of kayaking to invigorate your delegates.

At Matamata stop in at the home of the Hobbit village from the Lord of the Rings movies, refreshments can be arranged as well as an abundance of options for your guests to take part in.

Or contact someone like Action NZ, Activities Unlimited or Teamworks and arrange anything from a simple pit stop with refreshments on the side of the road to a team building event at some random stage of your journey.

Upon arrival
Why not call into Off road NZ or Agroventures just before arriving in the city and get your delegates energised with some of the great fun filled activites that these operators have on offer. You could even stay on for dinner!

Arrange for an original Maori welcome (Powhiri) for your group either at one of our beautiful spots as you enter the city or at your accommodation provider.

If you are flying guests in to Rotorua

Surprise the CEO or special guests with a limousine on arrival. Once on board are driven approx. 100m before boarding a helicopter to take them on a 10 min flight over the City before landing in the city (either at the Rotorua Lakefront in the CBD, or at Whakarewarewa Thermal reserve), where they are met by the limousine again to transfer them to their Accommodation.

Have a Harley fanatic in your group? Would they enjoy a quick trip around our beautiful lakes before check in?

Want to give your delegates a quick “spin” before settling in? Guests board a coach for transfers, but instead of heading straight into town they are transported out to Ohau Channel, where a selection of craft are waiting to take them back into the city. Kayaks, Jet boats, and the like then transport the group back to the Lakefront, where the coach is ready to finish to the transfer to the Hotels.

Getting close to a meal break when your arriving? Arrange with your accommodation provider a meal out at one of our stunning lakes and entertain your guests with being transported by amphibious duck!
