Doolan’s Country Retreat offers peace and tranquillity in a uniquely designed home nestled within 10 acres of idyllic country setting, with many charming features. This adults-only B&B is truly place to unwind and rejuvenate the soul.
Take in the views of Lake Rotorua and Mt Tarawera, walk through the beautiful gardens, and even feed the donkeys. Experience a spacious open-plan home and garden with many spaces available to take a moment from your busy schedule.
The home is tastefully styled, with no room the same. Upon check-in you’re greeted with afternoon tea and delicious home baking. Breakfasts are full of fresh local produce and homemade jams, muesli, yoghurt, seasonal fruit, as well as a hot cooked dish of the day. Tea and coffee facilities are available in your rooms and in the kitchen.
There are no cooking facilities, so instead, your hosts encourage you enjoy Rotorua’s diverse range of eateries, or partake in a true Kiwi tradition: feasting on takeaways under the stars in the outdoor dining area. Pour a wine, sit back and enjoy the lights of Rotorua in the distance, and spot the Southern Cross and Milky Way.
Bedrooms are TV-free, enticing you to retreat, relax and chat during your stay. You’re most welcome to join others in the main lounge area, especially for nights when our mighty All Blacks are playing.
At Doolan’s you’re only a five-minute drive to the local village of Ngongotahā, and 15 minutes to Rotorua city.
