Rotorua boasts some of the best mountain biking in New Zealand. With approximately 200km of purpose-built bike trails in Whakarewarewa Forest just five minutes from the centre of Rotorua and a number of nearby beautiful lakes, Rotorua is the ultimate place to mountain bike in New Zealand. 

Whakarewarewa Forest is famous for its diverse network of trails offering riding for all levels of ability whether child or adult. Each trail has a name and a skill level grading. Maps of the trail network are available.

First timers must try our two-hour ride on flat to undulating terrain through beautiful forest with lots of fun and excitment. With groups, our mature and experienced guides ensure everyone has their perfect mountain bike ride. We cater to the individual, for families, school, corporate and tour groups. We can tailor a ride to suit each individual, and every occasion. 
 

Planet Bike offers freedom bike hire, mountain bike tours, and adventure combos. Combine mountain biking with kayaking, rafting, horse riding in half and full day adventures.
 

For those with their own bikes we have full workshop facilities. We offer bike fix, provision of bike bitz 'n spares, event Information, and up-to-date trail news.
