Waimangu Volcanic Valley connects people with the beating heart of the world’s youngest geothermal valley, its unique history and legacy.

Treat yourself to some of the best walking trails in Rotorua, set amongst awe-inspiring volcanic craters and incredible geothermal activity. Choose from a range of self-guided nature walks and hiking trails, mostly down hill, through pristine New Zealand bush. Included with your entrance fee is a guide sheet, available in many languages, to refer to for interpretation as you make your way through our wonderful valley.
Relax on a cruise of beautiful Lake Rotomahana with full commentary by your skipper; or take a combination of walk and cruise. When you're ready, a courtesy shuttle bus will return you to the Waimangu Visitor Centre where you can enjoy refreshments in our café and browse our gift shop.

A daily shuttle service is available (excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day), leaving at 9am from Rotorua isite Visitor Information Centre at 1167 Fenton Street, and returning to isite by 1.30pm. For more info, terms and conditions, and bookings, click here.
