Boyes Beach is one of the largest beaches on Lake Ōkāreka and a great attraction during the warmer months, and popular for swimming, fishing and picnicking.
Facilities include barbecues, picnic area, children's playground, drinking water, toilets, showers, dishwashing facilities and designated overnight parking area for motorhomes and campervans. A mobile phone charging unit is also provided.
A walkway connects Boyes Beach to the Lake Ōkāreka Department of Conservation (DOC) campsite which passes two local jumping rocks. Fees are collected via EFPOS from a camp manager who will visit during your stay.
Remember to take care of our beautiful environment, and to dispose of all rubbish responsibly.
From 15 December to 1 March, dogs are not allowed on the reserve between the hours of 9am to 7pm. Outside this time dogs can either be leashed or unleashed but must be controlled at all times. Please ensure your dog is kept out of the playground area, and dispose of dog waste responsibly.
